We have had a busy weekend here at Gym 01 up and down the country!
First up we have some of our Vitor Shaolin BJJ Team competing at the Dorset & Hants BJJ Open is a Gi & No Gi event on Saturday. Massive congratulations to Diogo Pina who won Gold in in Gi! Also to Charlie Catt and Laurence Greenwood who both took Silver in the No Gi category. Well done to Vasiliki Aroutsidou who also competed. You all did outstanding!
We also had black belt Daniel Strauss down to teach his style of guillotine to the team on Sunday. Great attention to detail, thank you for the awesome seminar!
Our Kickboxers made the trip down to Poole for ThaiWorks Interclub! Some great match ups with lots to take away from! Looking forward to the next Gym 01 interclub on December 5th. Check out the event HERE
Last but not least we had 4 Gym 01 Monsters competing on Almighty Fighting Championship in Gateshead. Charlie Hatton got the victory in the first round via rear naked choke. Danny Bettey put on a strong performance but unfortunately lost in the second round via rear naked choke, we hope your broken nose heals quickly! Very close match for Alex Bodnar, who was submitted in the 3rd round by guillotine. Finally Jade Barker lost via TKO in the 1st round. Well done to all these guys for competing it’s not an easy thing to do, on to the next one, Shock N Awe 31.5 on November 13th!
