We reopen on Saturday the 25th of July and we can’t wait to see you!
We’re working hard to get Gym 01 ready to reopen and can’t wait to welcome our members back to resume their martial arts and fitness journey on 25th July. We wanted to update you on the steps Gym 01 is taking to help minimise the spread of COVID-19 now we have a date to reopen. We are continuing to follow and monitor official guidance from the UK Government, UK Active and Public Health England carefully.
The safety of our members, staff and coaches is our number one priority, but while things will look a little different, we will continue to provide a premium gym experience. We have introduced new procedures to keep everyone safe, well and active. Our equipment will be spread out and user numbers will be monitored and limited to ensure safe distances are maintained. Social distancing measures and enhanced cleaning procedures are at the heart of our approach to provide you with a safe, welcoming environment to work out.
We have also introduced sanitisation stations across the club, and have increased the amount of sanitiser spray and blue paper towels available to members to further encourage them to wipe down and clean equipment before and after use.
We are using signage, including clear floor markings to help members to remain socially distanced, and staff will be on hand throughout our clubs to support.
We are reducing the number of members in certain areas of the club at any one time to minimise congestion and ensure members and team members can practice social distancing.
How will it work when we can return?
Initially, you will be able to book a one-hour slot in either the matted area side of the gym (Unit 16) or the weights side (Unit 15). You will not be allowed to move between these.
We have introduced a fair usage policy of one slot per person, per day. We will monitor all of the above on a daily basis and as soon as we are able to, lift any restrictions.
There will be no classes available at first as we are not able to deliver any kind of martial arts, or boxing training in line with the governing bodies advice and if we were to, it would invalidate our insurance.
We do not expect this to last long and would recommend you returning to fitness and exercise as soon as possible in order to prepare for them. We will be opening 7 days from early morning to late in the evening to allow everyone time to come and train. You must book your slot in advance, there will be no walk-ins allowed.
If you aren’t feeling well or are showing even slight symptoms, we respectfully request that you do not attend Gym 01. If you are found to have a temperature higher than 38 degrees centigrade you will not be permitted to access the gym.
We look forward to having you back at Gym 01 and we are hopeful of the re-introduction of classes in the coming weeks. We will be updating you all via e-mail on a week by week basis with any changes.
Stay safe, stay active and we can’t wait to see you soon!
