Martial Arts for Kids - Junior BJJ, Boxing & Kickboxing 8 to 15 years

Martial Arts for kids, is a safe and fun way for kids to get fit, learn self-discipline and make new friends.

Our Junior kickboxing classes have been some of the longest running in Portsmouth. We started kickboxing for kids when we opened our doors in 2011. Having the next generation properly trained is important to us, if not the sport will soon die out. These classes follow an education system which ensure each class is jut as different, and as fun as the last while still ensuring participant development and progress. We hold regular gradings for our Junior classes so they always have something to aim for, along with competitive matches which are all completely voluntary.

Jade, Michael and Ian have been the head coaches of the Junior classes for a number of years and hold a very good relationship with all of the members, and their parents. Because they coach the Mini Ninjas class as well, the development of all of our Juniors, and their knowledge and understanding of all the techniques is second to none.

Coach Henry leads our Junior Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting, that was developed to allow a smaller person to defend themselves against a larger adversary using posture and technique.

Coach Denika heads our ever-growing Junior Boxing classes. She also offers 1 on 1 training for your little champions!

Shorts and t-shirt are fine for your child to train in, and they will need some of the basic equipment after their free trial which includes Boxing Gloves and Shin Pads or a BJJ Gi. These are stocked in our reception shop and the staff will be more than happy to advise you on what would be best for your child.

Kickboxing, Boxing and BJJ are some of the most popular, and formidable sports in the world. Our non contact teen classes are perfect to boost confidence, make new friends, get fit and learn the sport that encompasses kicking, punching, elbows and knees. These popular classes are the perfect gap between the Junior classes and moving into the Adult sessions. Between the ages of 12 and 15 years we find that mixing between this class, and our Junior classes gives the perfect preparation to step up to the more intense adult classes.
