Boris has said his bit but as with every industry, there’s a fine print to follow. We’ve been through it and checked what is needed for us in order to open and we’ve broken down the key elements for you below so you can understand what your training is going to look like.

April 12th
The re-opening! We will open from Monday the 12th April at 9am. Booking will be available for all members on the fitsense app from Monday the 5th of April.
The 24 hour gym will be open for you to book as before along with Mini Ninja, Junior and Teen classes.
Adult classes cannot operate as we are used to and only individual, household or social bubble training is allowed. We have kept the timetable in place so you know when the coach you usually train with will be on hand to advise you or answer any questions you might have.
This is perfect to get your conditioning, fitness and strength back up to class standard so whether you are going to do some drills on the heavy bag, roll with your flatmate or a dummy get these sessions in and prepare for the next stage!
We will still have to take your temperature on arrival, you cannot use the door between the units or spectate, nor are you allowed to get changed at the gym and must leave via the rear fire exit still but not for long!

May 17th
Normality returns! For the first time in over a year you will be able to pad work, free rolling, sparring and more. A more normal timetable will resume and the booking system to use the gym only will be abolished. We are seriously looking forward to this but really want to make sure you are prepared. It is easy to say that you will be able to jump straight back into a ‘normal’ class but whether you have been working out at home, in the park or online there is nothing like a high energy class so take your time to prepare from April the 12th. The worst thing to happen from this stage would be an injury which puts you out of training for weeks or months so remember ‘preparation is key’.

June 21st
Events can return! Some of you may remember our original plan for the 24 hour gym and that was to use it for small events for those members who wish to compete. 17 months after opening we will finally be able to do this so keep your eyes peeled for these, a Summer Party, Members Sports Days and more!

The above is subject to change, we don’t make these rules so we will continue to monitor, interpret and report them to you as and when anything changes.

We cannot thank those members that were able to support us over the last year enough and we promise that as soon as we are financially able to, a reimbursement scheme will be offered. There are so many independent gyms like ours that have had to close since lockdowns began and whilst we have been determined not to be one of them, we are not out of the woods yet. Your continued support by liking, sharing, commenting on our social media, and introducing a friend of family member to the gym is greatly appreciated.

Together we are sure that by the end of the year we will be able to say ‘WE DID IT’ and it’s down to our Gym 01 family, so a huge thank you to you all.

Our offices are still closed and we are only able to respond to e-mails until we are open so if you have a question, want to re-start your membership or anything else please e-mail admin@gym01.com and we will aim to respond to you within 2 working days.
